My work is an observation of the world around me. It documents experiences I had and the feelings and thoughts they arose in me.
 

I begin by taking the photograph that will be the center of the artwork. That photograph is printed, painted and then scanned and worked on digitally to produce a new original that in turn is transferred onto canvas or plywood and painted with acrylic, enamel, inks and pastels.

The recurring motifs in my work are chairs, books, apples, light, sheep and trees.

A chair is a place for contemplation and the seat of the soul.

Books represent knowledge acquired from outside sources, an apple signifies also knowledge, but the kind one acquires from its own experiences.

Light symbolizes a source of strength, wisdom, energy, hope and faith.

Sheep represent innocence.

Trees symbolize life itself, being rooted (therefore belonging), earthiness and food for body and soul.

Some of my works include Biblical passages, these passages are viewed through the lens of my interpretation, an interpretation in which universality, coexistence and tolerance are the central values.

 

These pieces are made on canvas treated with plaster and paint forming a rough surface onto wich the images are transferred. This process gives a perfectly inperfect and aestetic result as shown in the sample below.

These pieces do not need framing.
